Animal Oracle Reading for June 24. 2014

The animal oracle card that I drew this morning was Dog, or Cu in Gaelic. As one might expect, Dog speaks to us about loyalty, faithfulness and companionship.These are areas we might be inclined to focus on today. We also might be called on as protectors as well. Dog is telling you to stand up for yourself and to protect or defend those beliefs you hold close to your heart.

Another aspect of Dog is her association with the after life. Dogs are said to accompany people to the next world. Then, there is the three headed dog, Cerberus, who guards the gates of the afterlife to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering. It's strange (or is it?) but my ancestor altar where I have placed photos of my departed family members, is just below a shelf where I have displayed a collection of ceramic dogs. Very cool when those little synchronicities happen! Perhaps today you will be reminded of a loved one in Spirit. It's not your imagination when you feel them near. Listen to what they are trying to tell you! Have a great day!

Oracle Reading for June 23, 2014

Today's oracle reading is from the Druid Animal Oracle; and the animal that has appeared  is the hare. It's funny, but I have been seeing these creatures everywhere lately, so it makes sense to listen to their message.

The hare, or Gearr in the Druid tradition, is about rebirth, intuition and balance. The message here is to trust your intuition. Look for signs to direct you along your path. You should also seek balance in your life. Are you working too much and neglecting your family or hobbies? Seek balance.

This can be a time of creativity, so allow yourself to act on a fertile mind that should be full of ideas. Trust yourself to know what to do. Dust off those creative projects you have set aside and allow them to be reborn and inspire you to a more balanced and inspired life!

Midsummer's Eve Oracle Reading

Today's oracle reading for  June 20, 2014 is brought to you by the Goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom. She is telling us to listen to our own inner wisdom and knowledge. Follow your gut feelings and act on them!

It's Midsummer's Eve! The summer soltice  is tomorrow marking the day with the most daylight hours of the year. After the solstice our days will start to grow shorter until the winter solstice in December.

This being Midsummer, I would also like to honor the Goddess Aine. She is the Fairy Queen who presides over the fairy kingdom. She is dear to my heart because the fae are the energies that help the flowers grow! This is the night when people of many different cultures light a balefire. Tonight, light a fire in your firepit and honor those energies that make our world the beautiful place that it is! Or simply light a candle and gives thanks.

Full Moon in Sagittarius Burning Bowl Ceremony

Not only is the full moon an excellent time to charge crystals (and yourself!) in the moonlight, it is also a great time to perform a burning bowl ceremony! This is a time to rid yourself of those things you are willing to give up once and for all. If you are truly motivated, then read on!

This month the full moon is exact on June 12 at 9:11 PM, PDT. It will be in the sign Sagitarrius. This is an excellent time to rid yourself of issues involving: Carelessness, self-righteousness, making assumptions, excesses, extravagance, bluntness, pain or disease of the hips, liver, sciatica

 Here’s what you do:

Supplies: pieces of paper, pencil, heat proof container to burn pieces of paper, matches, water (just in case!)

1.      Write down what you would like to get rid of on a small piece of paper. Sign and date    the paper.

2.       Read what you have written aloud.

Example:” I now rid myself of the habit of making too many assumptions.”

3.       Light the paper and place it in the heatproof container.

4.       Visualize your “problem” going up in smoke!

If you wish you may call upon Archangel Raguel, the sociable peacekeeper, to be present and assist you. You can also set the scene with the following elements:Fire, colors- purple, pale blue and deep blue; herbs, oils, incense - bergamot, clove and rosemary:  Be creative!

Finding the Elements That Will Enhance Your Life

The elements make up our world. We rely on them for staying alive and for working with energy in whatever way we choose. In western paganism there are four elements: earth, air, fire and water. In the Chinese system there are five elements: earth, wood, fire, water and metal. If you have studied Chinese astrology, feng shuy or Chinese health and nutrition you will have heard of their five element system. I don’t really see any real conflict between the western system and the Chinese system. Both systems are valid and even complement each other in some instances.

The Chinese believe you should find those elements and their associations that will enhance your life based on your date and time of birth as well as your gender. I am inclined to believe that working with certain elements is a really great way to benefit your health as well as the energy work you do. For the longest time, however, I struggled with what the different systems told me I should have as a “lucky element”. I have always loved the ocean. I have a thing about mermaids and sea animals and when we moved to Texas from California I missed the ocean so much. I love lakes and ponds and even impulsively dug a pond in my backyard one day just to be able to be near water. So why did all the different systems tell me I needed earth as my lucky element??? I decided to dig deeper to see what the deal was. I am a double fire sign with the sun and moon both in fire signs (I like fire..lots of candles in my home…fire pit in the yard…like the color red) so fire seemed to fit ok. But water…hmmm…one planet in a water sign. Very low on water in my horoscope except that my sun and moon were in water houses (the 8^th and the 12^th). OK, so that might explain it somewhat. I still wanted to know more about why I had this strong connection with water.

Yesterday I remembered that there can be different ways of figuring out the Chinese lucky elements depending on who you are talking to, so I decided to visit my friend Google and see what I could find out. I found a website that not only told how they figured the beneficial elements, but I finally found out why I was so drawn to water and fire. Yep, both of those elements are lucky for me. The website explained that I am, indeed, a metal person (which I knew) but I am a STRONG metal person. Since I am strong in that element I need elements that will reduce my metal or I’ll overdose on metal…who knew? Water and fire reduce metal. Yay! Now I know that my surrounding myself with candles and mermaids is a good thing! I knew it was, but wanted to know why. That’s how I am. You can be a weak metal person and then your lucky elements would indeed be earth and metal.

The elements affect us whether we like it or not, so finding the colors and even the occupations and foods that will make us healthy and happy is worth looking into. Your best element could even tell you what kind of energy or even dieties you should work with in the most beneficial way and start you down a whole new path of study.

Call on an Angel!

The literal meaning of the word angel is “messenger”. Angels are a means by which The Divine Spirit reaches out to us with messages of love and light.  Calling on individual angels in meditation and prayer for certain areas of concern in your life will help you to be more specific and focus your energy and intent to bring about the change you wish to see in your life. Angels are great at helping you with your manifesting! Intent and focus are very important when it comes to manifesting, and the more clarity you have when you formulate your intentions, the greater your success in achieving your manifestation. For comparison: if you want to place an ad in the newspaper to sell your car, you would contact the person in charge of classified ads and not the person in charge of the weather report. The weather reporter might be able to forward your ad to the classifieds department, but that would waste time and you would be doing it the hard way!

For your angelic petitions, individual angels have their “specialties”, so learning about which angels deal with what issues, is a good idea. Michael, for instance, is a good one to call on for protection. I like to visualize each angel, even though they are generally pure energy and don’t have a physical shape like we do on Earth. They can take on a material shape when they need to, but that just happens occasionally. Their energy vibrates on various frequencies and individual angels resonate with certain colors, gemstones, essential oils…the correspondences are many for each angel. Remember how I mentioned the importance of being clear and focused in your intent? Visualizing each angel in a certain way will help you to make contact when you are invoking them to ask for their help. If you are so inclined and have the time and resources, go ahead and incorporate, gemstones, aromatherapy and color into your angel meditations. This can help you to tune into the individual angel energy even more. In future articles I will go deeper into the individual angel names and correspondences to facilitate in your angel meditations.

 Getting back to Michael, when I call on him for protection, I see in my intuitive mind a male figure, well muscled, and surrounded by a golden light. To be honest, I see an angel that looks a lot like Brad Pitt with his golden hair and strong physique! He generally carries a sword and often appears dressed like a gladiator ready to protect. Many times when Michael is around I will see flashes of royal blue or royal purple light. After “seeing” Michael appear I feel I have made contact with him and can feel his presence around me. This more concrete visualization helps my human, 3-D, earth-bound brain tap into angelic energy a lot easier. Others might prefer to “see” angels as various colors of light energy. It has been speculated that the wings and halos attributed to angels are the result of the light rays they give off. Their light energy suggests the shape that we commonly think of when we imagine an angel. This has resulted in the way they have been depicted in art throughout the ages. Visualizing an angel is very personal, so if you can find a different way to see angels psychically that works for you, that is just fine! Now, find a quiet place with few distractions….take several deep breaths….relax…. and begin your angel meditation. Explore your psychic senses and get ready to speak with the angels. Speak to them like you would to a dear friend and open yourself up to receiving their loving messages!

Goddess By Any Other Name

Mother Mary, The Blessed Mother, The Queen of Angels, Stella Maris, she is known by many names and is loved the world over and throughout the Universe. I work closely with the energy that Mary gives so lovingly. Along with the Saints and our guides and ancestors, she is interested in our lives just as a loving mother would be with her children. She is but one form of the female aspect of God which is called Goddess.

 I was surprised one day when Mary made her presence known to me as I was doing a healing session on a client. I could feel her in the room and saw her energy nearby. The Blessed Mother doesn't force her influence on us, but like a concerned mother, she lets us know she is there if we need her. 

Some people say Mary was an angel, the queen of the angels, before she incarnated as a human. She does have a very loving angelic quality to her. Pagans knew her, long before the arrival of Christianity, in other forms. When the priests came to do away with the Goddess, she took on the aspect of Mary. I love working with Mary and petition her to help, especially in situations relating to my sons and daughter. She is also called on for protection, healing and miracles of all kinds.

Hoodoo practitioners and curanderas honor Mary and petition her for favors. She goes by many names: Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, etc.. It is interesting to note that the site where Juan Diego was told by the Virgin Of Guadalupe to build her church was close to an ancient native site where the Goddess, Tonantzin,  was worshipped before the Christian priests arrived.

Candles for petitioning Mary are often blue or white and the flowers that represent her are lilies and roses.
